PC

Known for:

Dark Room Sex Game (Wii - prototype)
An award-winning multiplayer, erotic rhythm game without any visuals, played only by audio and haptic cues. The game can be played with Nintendo Wiimote controllers or a keyboard.

In Dark Room Sex Game, the player works with his or her partner to find a mutual rhythm, then speeds up gradually until climax. In four-player “orgy” mode, players swap partners randomly and compete to reach orgasm the fastest.

B.U.T.T.O.N. (Xbox 360)
Out on Xbox Live Indie, Soon on PC through Steam (Windows).
Nominated for Independent Games Festival Nuevo Award.

Brutally Unfair Tactics Totally OK Now is a one-button party game for 2-8 players.  Race to your controller through physical space, and do whatever it takes to win (or to avoid losing). Act like a monkey, jump up and down, wrestle over the controllers, strip off some clothing, cheat your competitors, and above all, expect the unexpected. Brutally unfair tactics are, after all, totally OK now!

Tryl (Wii - in development)
Videogame of the Future is a multi-player spell duelling game designed for the physical game controllers. The game lets players sling spells at one another in a game of dexterity and strategy. Unlike many other gestural console games, Tryl pushes players to look at each other, rather than at the screen.

Games shown at GDC 2011:

B.U.T.T.O.N. (Xbox 360) - See above

Panzer Geez (iPhone)
Mini-golfish game only with toy soldiers. Flick a tank around a fully destructable world and collect a shitload of flags. Think Angry Birds with flags, tanks and funnier physics.
Playable af GDC in a Lite-version

Slowmo Showdown (Xbox 360)
Cowboy game for Microsoft Kinect, where you have to move in slowmotion. Draw your pistol, but do it slowly and with cynical coolness to shoot at the screen. Through innovative headtracking with Kinect, 3D-bullets will hurl towards you - so duck, but look cool while doing it. Still in concept phase - still lacking the Kinect development kit from Microsoft.

A physics based 2D puzzle platformer, in which the player controls the boy Max and his Magic Marker. The player has to draw directly inside the game world where everything drawn becomes physical objects. This feature is used to complete levels and overcome challenges but it also provides the player with a unique tool that in itself is fun to play around with.

The player controls the freaky tentacle-monster Lemmy, which is the mishap of Dr. Phluff’s experiment to create the most adorable and lovable creature in the world. Lemmy moves through the body of Dr. Phluff in 40 levels, and the trick is to place the tentacles correctly, so the body of Lemmy moves forward, but avoids the enemies in his path.

KnapNok Games ApS is an independent Danish game development company, who is exploring novel game concepts for social and physical digital game platforms such as: Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Kinect, Sony Playstation3 Move and smartphones.

Our focus in KnapNok Games is motion controlled technologies because we believe that we have a big potential in making social console gaming more physical and playful – closer to traditional games.

We recognize large market potential for physical digital games designed for social contexts that makes the players the center of attention rather than the TV screen. Therefore, we are continuously experimenting and iterating on multiple interaction and gameplay approaches for physical interfaces.

The core team of KnapNok Games are also members of the “creative hub” and an award-winning game design collective by the name Copenhagen Game Collective. The idea of the creative hub involves building an organization capable of collaborating with a vast number of talented external partners on exciting novel projects. The collective is a tight network of different companies, non-commercial projects, and creative individuals, which all enjoy the synergy, inspiration and potential attention of working in something “more” than a company.
